Whey – Multiple Applications

The applications of Milei® whey proteins are as wide-ranging as the ingredients of whey itself. These ingredients are essential constituents in today’s infant formulas and diet products as well as in nutrition for athletes and elderly. Moreover, they can be found in almost all areas of the food industry: dairy products, ice cream, sauces, cakes, biscuits, chocolate, pasta and potato products as well as in numerous meat products. They also play an increasingly important role in pharmaceuticals.

The use of Molkolac®Instant  and Lactose in food products covers a wide range: from rounding off the flavour of sweets and improving solubility in instant drinks through to flavour enhancement in cold meat products.

Lactose is an ideal carrier of energy, high in physiological value. It can also be used as a mild sweetener compared to sucrose. Lactulose promotes the growth of bifido bacteria and stimulates the metabolic activity. As a drug it is used in the treatment of encephalopathy and liver disease. Lactulose is used in feed products as a prebiotic.
